I have for long been fascinated by this strange, isolated country,North Korea. If you live there, it is the greatest country on Earth. You grow up believing everyone loves you and that being North Korean is an absolute privilege. Your mothers teach you songs at a young age about the imperialist Americans. You believe that your country crushed the Americans in the Korean war. Your army is infinitely superior to the rest of the world.Its leaders runs the worlds greatest propaganda machine, far surpassing those of Hitler and Stalin. Without further ado, I introduce to you, the greatest wierdos!
1. World greatest sportman.According to his biography, he first picked up a golf club in 1994, at North Korea’s only golf course, and shot a 38-under par round that included no fewer than 11 holes in one. Satisfied with his performance, he reportedly immediately declared his retirement from the sport.
2. He was a near-obsessive film buff He is reported to have a collection of 20,000 plus video tapes.He Kidnapped Two Directors To Remake Godzilla.He also kidnapped two respected South Korean directors in 1978 (Shin Sang Ok and Choi Eun Hee) and forced them to remake Godzilla.
3. He was suspected of killing his younger brother Kim Shu-ra when he was five after the child drowned in the family’s swimming pool in their Pyongyang mansion.
4. His birth is a mystery.He was born on Feb. 16, 1942 aged 69, in a secret military camp on Baekdu Mountain, on the North Korean border, his official biography says. But Soviet records claim he was born on February 16, 1941 in the village of Vyatskoye, in Russia, where his parents were in exile during the Japanese occupation of Korea.
5.His birth was prophesied. According to his official biographers, his birth in Baekdu Mountain was prophesied by a swallow and heralded with a double rainbow and a new star in the heavens.
6.He Was Born Under A Double Rainbow.According to Kim Jong Il’s official biography, he was born in a secret military camp on Baekdu Mountain during North Korea’s Japanese occupation and his arrival was prophesised by a double rainbow and marked by the sight of a new star and a swallow in the sky. Unfortunately the truth appears to be more mundane – according to Soviet records, Kim was born in the Siberian village of Vyatskoye in 1941.
7.He Was Afraid Of FlyingKim Jong Il was reportedly terrified of flying and always travelled in armoured private trains – one of which he eventually died inside. His father, Kim Il-sung, was also afraid of flying.
8.He Kidnapped Short PeopleAccording to one of Kim Jong Il’s former tutors, the leader used pamphlets advertising wonder-growth drugs to lure small people into traps, from where they would be deported to “uninhabited islands” to remove their “substandard” stock from the genepool.
9.He Could Control The Weather.According to reports the former leader spread rumours that he could make it rain on demand, depending on his mood.
10.He Drank $700k Worth Of Cognac A Year.According to a study a few years ago by Dr. Jerold Post, a former CIA psychologist, Kim Jong Il loved Hennessey cognac – which sells for around $630 a bottle in North Korea, or just under the average annual income ($900). According to the study he averaged around $650,000 to $720,000 of cognac a year.
11.He Did Not Use Toilets – Because He Didn’t Need To.According to an official biography posted on the North Korean state web site, that has since been removed, Kim Jong-il did not defecate.
12.He Had Many, Many Titles.Among Kim Jong Il’s official titles were: Shining Star of Paektu Mountain, Guiding Sun Ray, Dear Leader, Great Leader, Respected Leader, Brilliant Leader, Sun of Socialism, The Great Sun of Life, Great Man Who Descended From Heaven, Invicible And Ever-Triumphant General and Highest Incarnation of the Revolutionary Comradely Love.
13.He Was A Rice Obsessive.According to a nephew of Kim’s first wife, Lee Young Nam, the leader had female staff inspect each grain of rice he ate to make sure it adhered to standards of length, weight and colour.
14.He Invented Hamburgers.North Korean newspaper Minju Joson once reported that Kim Jong Il had invented something called the “double bread with meat” and created factories to produce them in order to feed his students and teachers. Given North Korea’s anti-American stance it wasn’t politic to admit they were in fact hamburgers.
15.He Forced Women To Have Cosmetic Surgery.According to one report, Kim forced waitresses at restaurants frequented by foreigners in Pyongyang to have cosmetic surgery in order to appear more “western”.

1.Date of Birth is a Mystery Kim Jong-un may have been born either in 1983 or 1984. The exact date, much like it was with his father, remains a secret. The North Korean authorities, however, claim he was born on Jan. 8, 1984
2.Used Pseudonym in College Jong-un attended the International School of Bern, till 1988, under the pseudonym Pak Un. Many of his classmates did not believe, at the time, he was the son of the North Korean ruler. He learned to speak English, German and French during his time there.
3.Obsessed with the NBA According to his Swiss college friends, Jong Un was obsessed with the NBA, Kobe Bryant, Toni Kukoc, Michael Jordan and LA Lakers. He apparently possessed photographs with NBA players and had a room filled with NBA-memorabilia.
4.Nike Sneakers Fetish Despite being born to the Kim dynasty, Jong-un was markedly indifferent to politics and his father’s anti-American propaganda. He apparently didn’t have a problem with American brands and owned a massive collection of expensive Nike Sneakers.
5.World’s Youngest Head of State Whether he was born in 1983 or 1984, Jong-un is currently the world’s youngest head of state.
6.Heavy Drinker Unconfirmed reports and an account by Kim Jong-il’s chef claims Jong-un is a heavy drinker, is a diabetic and suffers from hypertension. Kim Jong-il’s former personal chef, Kenji Fujimoto, stated if power is to be handed over then Jong-un is the best for it. He has superb physical gifts, is a big drinker and never admits defeat.
7.Birthday is National Holiday In an effort to make the dynastic succession a smooth one, Jong-un’s birthday was declared a national holiday in North Korea, in 2010.
8.Non Existent Photograph There were no photographs of Jong-un, as an adult, prior to his being declared the heir apparent to the North Korean leadership – apart from a grainy black-and-white image of him as a teenager.
9.Scared of Barbers, Cuts His Own Hair Jong-un allegedly has a morbid fear of barbers, stemming from a traumatic childhood experience and prefers to cut his own hair. His buzz-style haircut has apparently set a fashion trend in North Korea and young men are reportedly queuing up in front of parlors to get the Jong-un Cut.
10.Cosmetic Procedures South Korean media speculates Kim Jong-un may have undergone several cosmetic procedures to look like his grandfather – the founder of North Korea. His recent photographs, either due to weight gain or due to alleged cosmetic procedures, look noticeably different from those of him as a teenager.
11.North Korean men must get Kim Jong Un’s haircut.The men are now only allowed to wear the same haircut as his.
